Will it come to anything though?

The last few times he's tried to withdraw responsible adults have stopped him, as it allows the US to keep chips on the table against the Iranians, Saudis, Russians and Turks.

Good, let Syria get the chance to restore its sovereignty. Just worried about how far the Turks will go to attack the Kurds and violate Syrian sovereignty again.

Lots of comparison being made with the 2012 Obama withdrawal from Iraq and subsequent rising of ISIS.

Thing is, when the US left Iraq, Iraq was left on its own. Though the local troops had been trained and heavily equipped, these troops have shown on numerous occasions they were unable to fight effectively.

Syria on the other hand... well Syria is not alone.

Clusterfuck or not, we basically armed ISIS and created further instability. Glad none of my friends have to die in this shit hole.

There’s no way in hell they’ll be able to remove/destroy all the AFVs, fortifications, and stockpiles of weapons.

Unless they’re going to give them all to the SDF and allied rebels.

I wonder how much quicker we’d get to this point and how many people wouldn’t have to die if it wasn’t for Obama Administration succumbing to the idiot hawks in Congress and pouring arms into this mess and prolonging this eventuality.

What a clusterfuck of a failed foreign policy.

This is not a surrender, this is a well considered withdrawal right?

Better considered than the decision that got the US in Syria in the first place for sure.
