Fort Lauderdale shooting: Multiple people reportedly killed after gunman opens fire at Florida airport

At least three people have reportedly died following a reported shooting at Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

Police apprehended the suspect shortly after they shot nine people in the Terminal 2 baggage claim area.

Investigators have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.

according to news first shooter reloaded his handgun 3 times, (a second eruption of panic has happened, not sure if another shooter or what), witnesses say those who were shot were standing at the baggage claim and were shot in the head. loud noise in garage caused panic, perhaps NOT 2nd shooter.

13 people shot reported, of those 5 dead. no officer fired shots. supposedly the shooter, was a passenger who flew in from Canada with a checked handgun, he got his bag from the bag carousel recovery took it to the toilet, withdrew his handgun, loaded it, returned to the baggage claim and started shooting.

One suspect is in custody, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. A law enforcement source identifies the accused shooter as Esteban Santiago who was born in New Jersey and had a military ID.
