        • The Syrian Government forces with their Russian advisors may be moving very quickly and without much damage and loses but the tough nuts, the ISIS areas and perhaps Daraa city, are likely to be quite different and very deadly.

Not expected much resistance in Daraa, sure even most hardcore local rebels will prefer evacuation to Idlib.
ISIS area is the real problem, because of they can not surrender or be greenbused and because of Israel.

In general this year of Russian campaign in Syria shows good diplomatic skills of the Russian military command and not firepower only like in the previous years. Ability to effectively work with locals is the key strong point that greatly reduces costs and losses.

            • Excellent Report on populations living under rebel rule .by a great journalist that took 17 months .- " One manifestation of rebels’ impunity is the habit of some rebel factions, and in particular Hayat Tahrir a-Sham, to wear balaclavas when interacting with the population under their control, enabling them to avoid identification, public opprobrium and justice. Rebels further undermine the civilian courts by operating a parallel “justice” system, in which the rebels serve as judges and executioners without proper proceedings. Hossam, a medical worker in Daraa told me “most civilians here hate the rebels”, due to abuses against civilians, in particular kidnappings for ransom and of people who voice opposition to them. Raed, an activist in western Aleppo said that rebels kidnap “anyone who disagrees with them or says anything bad about them, civilian or rebel.”

              • "SDF Spokesperson: No Syrian flag raised over Hasaka"

"--He described the reports in the media as “negative propaganda spread by the regime” and other groups associated with it “to interfere in the general atmosphere of the area and to make problems and create such kind of chaos in the area in general.”
Last week, pro-government news outlets in Syria claimed an agreement was struck between the Kurdish authorities in the country’s north (known as Rojava) and the central government in Damascus after the former took down their flags in the cities across the region.
“I can say that almost all those reports are false,” Gabriel added." ---

Smuggling of material support, cut off by Trump. After this was made clear to the few battalion size rebel groups, the choice was continuing the resistance against Russia, Iran and Proxy Bashar with the leftover resources, or giving up. They pick up the second one (and who can blame them?)

                    • IAF strikes many SAA positions in Quintera. Video below.

                      https://twitter.com/michaelh992/stat...77648370888704

Militant groups are now targeting the weakened regime positions struck by IDF strikes earlier today.

                      https://twitter.com/IntelCrab/status...83154954743810

there are reports that ISIS (Khalid ibn al-Walid Army) attacks SAA positions too

Earlier Patriot missile shot down UAV

                      https://www.timesofisrael.com/report...ates-airspace/

looks like overkill but this not first time IAF uses Patriot missles to target UAVs (some missed thier targets). With more such incrusions IAF will run out of missiles quickly and will have to spend sagnifficant amounts of money to replenish stocks

                      • I highly doubt Israel will buy more PAC-2 missiles. They are yesterday's tech and Israel is replacing the patriot system with david's sling. Seems more like they are overkilling these drones with PAC-2 because they have no use for these old missiles in their future air defences.

David`s Sling is mainly ABM system and I don`t think it can be used against such targets. And Stunner is also expensive.

                            • Anyone knows if SAA will enter "no man's land" between UNDOF lines Alpha and Bravo to chase the "rebels" out? There are quite a few towns/villages in that zone that are infested with them.

                              • Daraa has been liberated, says Twitter buzz.

edit: Heh, they even reported it on Swedish TV a little while ago, so consider it confirmed I guess. After the ISIS bubble has been wiped out, it's time for al-Harra etc.

Netanyahu was in Moscow the other day, right? Did they ever agree on anything? I mean, now the action's getting real close to the Golans.
