They don't have a clue what they are doing, mentality could be another thing.

The kingdom gets less stable by the day, a lot of internal problems.
Their spending barely changes anything when they use there hardware like this, a better trained enemy with a decent doctrine with 40 year old equipment would massacre them.
Iranian forces or proxies like the Hezzies could be a lot more potent, could bring them in trouble.

That is why they have friends - powerful friends - doesn't matter who is in office the USA will pull the KSA nuts out of the fire.

            • Yemeni rebels destroy Saudi military convoy in west of Taiz

Yemeni rebels destroy a Saudi military convoy in Dhubab and Kahboub regions west of Taiz, the Arabic-language al-Ahed news reported.

According to the source, the Yemeni rebels and popular committees destroyed 15 military vehicles of the Saudi-led coalition forces in Dhubab and Kahboub.

Since March 2015, the kingdom and some of its Arab allies have been launching military operation in Yemen.

A military intervention was launched by Saudi Arabia in 2015, leading a coalition of nine Middle Eastern countries, to influence the outcome of the Yemeni Civil War. Code-named Operation Decisive Storm, the intervention initially consisted of a bombing campaign and later saw a naval blockade and the deployment of ground forces into Yemen.

Not if they collapse quickly enough. After all it was the same mantra for the Shah in 1979.

                • Instead of spending 100B$ to promote wahabism and screw the world ( allied included ), KSA should have spent the money in training its troops or providing cover to its convoy with helos.

                  • Plenty of videos showing Houthi military success but as anyone who followed Syria can tell you, videos don't give a full picture of what's happening on the battlefield.
Does anyone have any idea where things stand at this point in time?

The pro government forces have been making gains very slowly for quite a while now, although from a military view point nothing is close to be over.

The frontlines are not going to shift in any major way any time soon. Yemen is a tribal war, each tribe controls their local area and has their own political loyalties. The only way for one side of the conflict to conquer that area is to either get that tribe to defect, or to massacre every fighting age man in the tribe. Fortunately the war hasn't escalated to the point were the latter is too common, so the frontlines remain static.

The houthis videos are certainly a pleasure to watch. What most people don't know is that pro-Hadi forces are also putting out quite a bit of social media content, but its just the typical videos of armed men firing AKs blindly at unseen targets off camera, followed by the customary praise of the Almighty. No indication that they are actually hitting or accomplishing anything.

Seem that an US helicopter raid on AlQuaïda happen in Yemen. (4 Apache, one crash landed)
                              41 AlQuaïda members killed.

Sadly a US soldier may have been killed in the operation.
