  • Venezuela should be left alone to its own devices to collapse itself. Don't see any imperialism here; one has to be a genius not to see what's wrong with that country and deny the obvious.

BTW: Feel free to turn Venezuela into Iraq 2.0..... I can't wait to see a few more 0s added to that US national debt

no need for any invasion as stated above. Just don't deny the obvious.

BTW: I love how most of the underdeveloped countries keep literally raping their countries stripping materials from the land (and sometimes their women, got few banners about Russian girls on this site...) for something *cough* hard currency *cough* that, at best, is just a piece of printed paper and they pretend that that same matters for the printer... (see Quantitative Easing... the USD got even stronger).

They owned Venezuela by this trick. No need for any military invasion as you see. How is your ruble doing?I remember those lovely 10 Rubles banknotes... are you already using that instead of that preciously imported Japanese toilet paper?

But here I have some news for you! if the US will ever go broken (i.e. hyper-inflation Venezuela style), your poor Ruski economy and all the rest of the s*itholes Countries would have been disappeared for several years already, probably engulfed in a fracturing civil war among all the ethnicities and clans.

      • Well, i have a friend that left Venezuela (managed to get away) around two weeks ago.

What its being passed on the news, is not even half of what is going on there. No food, no medicines, rising crime (and by rising, he means reaching unbelievable levels), water/electricity only working a couple of hours a day, people dying.

Even for simple things like toilet paper, he had to buy it on the black market..

The problem for the Venezuelan people, is that the army is still on the side of Maduro, because he keeps them fed and with money.

#Venezuela: Intelligence services have detained and brutally tortured military officers and family members of people accused of plotting against the government. The repression continues as the Maduro regime clings on to power.

The terrible forthcoming destruction of the « Caribbean Basin »

              by Thierry Meyssan
President Trump has announced the withdrawal of US combat troops from the « Greater Middle East », but the Pentagon is still pursuing the implementation of the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski plan. This time the aim is to destroy the States of the « Caribbean Basin ». This is nothing like the overthrow of pro-Soviet regimes, as in the 1970’s, but the destruction of all regional State structures, without consideration for friends or political enemies. Thierry Meyssan observes the preparations for this new series of wars.

                • Can't go any worse than that Thierry Meyssan article suggests

This high profile arrest was staged it seems:

                  https://www.rt.com/news/448722-venez...r-arrest-coup/

But Communications Minister Rodriguez told RT Spanish over the phone that “there was actually no detention. Several security service employees acted on their own and carried out an unlawful act at the Caracas highway.” The situation had been fully resolved since then, with Guaidó currently out of detention, while the incident is being investigated, he said.
“The responsible servicemen have already been fired from their positions and will face disciplinary sanctions because they were attempting to put up a media show in Venezuela and abroad,” the minister said.

Well, they turned him loose but he was definitely snatched on the highway. there's a video of it.

Personally, I don't believe one word of the above article. i.e. I don't believe the arrest was staged.

Not the first time they decide to rise one unit at a time just to be smashed by the government.

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela’s government said on Monday it had suppressed a military revolt after a group of officers stole weapons and kidnapped several officials, as a video posted online showed a sergeant demanding the removal of President Nicolas Maduro.
Some two dozen officers attacked a National Guard outpost in the Caracas neighborhood of Cotiza, a kilometer (0.6 mile) from the presidential Miraflores palace, where they met “firm resistance,” the government said. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots at about 3 a.m. (0700 GMT).

Protesters later burned trash and a car outside the outpost, where the 25 officers were arrested, in a sign of growing tensions following Maduro’s inauguration to a second term that governments around the world have called illegitimate.

Twitter, youtube and Instagram have been blocked in #Venezuela in a way to censor soldiers' rebellion against Maduro and the protests occurring after the incident.

The gov knows that this will spark further movements ahead of the national protest on Jan 23
