  • US armed forces testing a Strela-2M (SA-7 Grail) and another SAM

    I came by this video.

The most interesting part is the initial 40 seconds or so.
I am quite sure the first missile being fired is a Soviet Strela-2M (SA-7 Grail). It seems it's powered with an external battery / power supply as it was done by Syrian insurgents during the previous years of the Syrian Civil War when they were overtaking stocks of missiles with expired batteries. It either fails to explode or it has no warhead. Failing to explode makes another point in favor of it coming from old stocks either captured or transferred.
This video is a testament on how the US are continuously getting ready to fight proxy wars using captured/ externally supplied ammo.

While I cannot identity the second SAM, the orange one which is fired at 0:32. Any idea?
